In 2011, Glenn was the youngest Member inducted into The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. The Award is given to individuals in recognition of personal and professional success despite humble and challenging beginnings. In 2013, Glenn became the youngest ever elected to the Association’s prestigious Board of Directors.
Members of Horatio Alger personally fund and award $9 million dollars annually in college scholarships to thousands of young recipients who demonstrate strength in the face of adversity, using their extreme hardships as motivators for success. Students who qualify for a scholarship are often teamed with Horatio Alger members for one-on-one mentoring.
In addition, Glenn built a leadership retreat for Horatio Alger Scholars on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island. The program has not only opened new worlds and encouraged personal growth to deserving youth, the gathering has also positively influenced the lives of the many industry leaders attending as mentees and speakers.
